(Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates) Looking for Commis Chef for a 5* luxury hotel
About the Role:
As Commis Chef, you will prepare and cook orders for daily operations while you advice supervisor of low inventory items; assists in receiving items and taking inventory as required. You will maintain a clean, neat and well-organized work area.
Reporting to the Chef De Partie, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Prepare special meals or substitute items.
Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
Pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator.
Ensure proper portion, arrangement, and food garnish.
Maintain food logs.
Monitor the quality and quantity of food that is prepared.
Communicate assistance needed during busy periods.
Inform Chef of excess food items for use in daily specials.
Ensure the quality of the food items.
Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist.
Prepare cold foods.
Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees.
1 year work experience as Commis Chef or 2 years as Apprentice in a hotel or restaurant with good standards / Basic Culinary skills / good hygiene knowledge
You must have certificate in culinary and have good spoken and written English
